BenchPressCalc is a set of free, fast strength calculators that estimate your one-rep max for every barbell lift, so you can program your training without ever grinding a risky maximal single.

What This Site Is

We build simple tools that answer one question well: how strong are you, and what should you lift? Enter a weight and rep count and we estimate your one-rep max for the bench press, squat, deadlift and overhead press, then turn it into training percentages, rep targets, plate loading and strength standards. No sign-up, no wall, no clutter.

How We Calculate Your Max

Our estimates use five long-established one-rep-max prediction equations (Epley, Brzycki, Lombardi, Lander and Wathan) and average them so no single formula's bias skews the result. These equations come from strength-and-conditioning research; the recognized professional body for training standards is the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). Strength standards on this site are bodyweight-ratio approximations aligned with widely published references such as ExRx.net. Estimates are a guide, not medical or coaching advice.

How We Make Money

The calculators are free and always will be. We keep the lights on in two honest ways: display advertising, and affiliate links to lifting gear on Amazon, where we earn a small commission on qualifying purchases at no extra cost to you. We only suggest gear we would use ourselves, and every affiliate section is clearly labelled. If we add a paid training program in future, it will be optional and clearly marked.
